Barret MRAD Lapua Sniper Rifle

The MRAD Sniper Rifle sets a new standard among high-powered rifles for adaptability and customization. The MRAD is shipped in a .338 Lapua Magnum caliber, with a 24.5″ fluted barrel and Multi-Role Brown finish. The MRAD has a length-of-pull that can be set to five different positions with the push of a single button and a consistent rifle-to-user interface is achieved with an adjustable cheek piece. Any possible combination of day or night optics can be accommodated with the 27.5-inch, 30 moa optic rail, and the match-grade trigger module is drop-fire-proof, adjustable and easily accessed for maintenance. Integrated into the MRAD rifle’s 7000 series aluminum upper receiver is an M1913 rail with 30 MOA taper and 21.75 inches of rail space. The configurable side and bottom rails can also hold a number of accessories.

The MRAD rifle’s user changeable barrel system is just one example of this hardworking gun’s modularity. The precision-grade barrel can be removed by simply unscrewing two bolts using a standard Torx wrench. Besides reducing maintenance and logistical burdens, this unique design paves the way for future caliber interchangeability and serviceability. The MRAD shooters will be able to easily change between 19 inch 7.62mm NATO, 24 to 26 inch .338 Lapua or .300 Win Mag barrels via two set screws.  Starting cold with no dope, the shooter noted that it took “four shots to get on target then was able to place repeatable hits on the ½ mil target” (top half of a man) at over 2300 yards. He mentioned that the MRAD grouped so precisely at 1700 meters that it became “boring” to shoot.
