Czech Made CZ S805 Carbine Assault Rifle

The new CZ S805 modular assault rifle was revealed in 2009. This weapon was developed in conjunction with the Czech Army and is aimed to replace the ageing vz.58. Currently Czech MoD is planning to obtain several thousands of these new rifles for special forces, reconnaissance battalions, and rapid deployment forces. It is a gas operated, selective fire weapon, chambered for the standard NATO 5.56 x 45 mm ammunition. It's design was influenced by the Heckler & Koch G36. Modular design of the S805 enables simple changing of the caliber. This assault rifle can be also converted to 7.62 x 39 mm and 6.8 x 43 mm ammunition.

CZ S805 Carbine Assault Rifle

CZ S805 Carbine Assault Rifle Caliber change is performed by the shooter by simply replacing the barrel, gas-piston unit, breech block and magazine housing. Three barrel lengths are available for each caliber. Consequently this weapon is available in three versions - carbine, standard assault rifle and light machine gun / marksman rifle. A polymer shoulder stock folds to the right side. When folded it do not obstructs ejection port. The shoulder stock can be completely removed, without affecting operation of the weapon.
